CREATIVE LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS
On behalf of Built From Scratch Academy, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to WLA Leadership and Staff for inviting us to partner in bringing innovative, student-centered programming to your school community.
We are excited to introduce the B.F.S. Creative Leadership Program, a hands-on enrichment experience designed to inspire creativity, build confidence, and develop real-world skills in today’s most impactful creative industries. Through this partnership, students will have the opportunity to explore:
What is the Creative Leadership Program
The Creative Leadership Program is an innovative before- and after-school enrichment experience for elementary students in grades 3-12 th that introduces youth to creative arts and media through hands-on clubs such as Fashion Design, Radio Podcasting, Music Production, Photography, and Videography. Led by trained individual’s the program uses near-peer mentorship to foster creativity, confidence, collaboration, and leadership while providing a safe, engaging, and inspiring environment for young learners.
Creative Leadership in Action: Students Engage with Deputy Mayor of Education
Students from Washington Leadership Academy’s Built From Scratch Creative Leadership program had the unique opportunity to interview the Deputy Mayor of Education. The experience took place at the Center City Maker Space in Northeast Washington, DC, where students engaged in meaningful dialogue around education, leadership, and community impact. This hands-on experience empowered students to practice professional communication, critical thinking, and civic engagement while gaining insight into local government leadership.
